No that’s not me in the photo. That’s my amazing client, Michelle! I wanted to feature her on the blog today because she just crushed her marathon back in December and she deserves a shout-out.
I started training Michelle just for strength training back in August of 2020 before I was even certified as a running coach. She then went on to become my very first running client once I finished my certification. I’m eternally grateful to her for trusting me with her training plan.
She was signed up for a marathon that was pushed several times due to Covid, but we were fairly confident it would happen in December so we got to work training around August.
Let me tell you guys, this woman is so consistent and disciplined. I don’t think she missed a single workout the entire training cycle. She was great at communicating with me if things were feeling off, if she wasn’t feeling recovered, etc. and we were able to adjust her plan accordingly.
Because of that dedication and stellar communication she completely smashed her PR by 40 minutes!!!
Not only that, we made it through the entire training block injury free and she recovered much faster than her previous marathon.
I am so incredibly proud of her. She showed up every day, put in the work, and the results speak for themselves.
I have done strength training with coaches before, but it never lasted long because they seemed to have their own goals that weren’t mine. I had signed up for my second marathon and was nervous because I really wanted to improve my time but didn’t know what I was going to do differently to achieve that. Once a friend recommended I reach out to Rebecca that all changed. She is hyper-focused on what your goals are and the best way for you to achieve them. Having a coach prepare me for a race was a game changer and finally having the same person doing my strength and running made all the difference. We had video check-ins once a week and Rebecca was always commenting on my workouts after I completed them so it felt like you were always connected, and she would adjust runs or strength as I needed. For my second marathon I improved my time by 40 minutes and met my goal of finishing under 5:30! First thing I wanted to do after getting that medal around my neck was call Rebecca and celebrate with her because I felt it was her achievement almost as much as mine!
I hope her story has inspired you and shown you how hard work truly pays off. If you’re ready to smash your goals like Michelle, send me a message below!
